Grey Gables offers a variety of activities to cater to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents.
These activities go beyond just keeping residents occupied; they provide numerous benefits that contribute to a higher quality of life.

Ensuring we have a full activity calendar, we actively encourage residents to help formulate the activities that occur at Grey Gables. All residents pick and choose what they would like to be involved in, or if they would just like to watch, all participation is encouraged.

Fundraising

Residents throughout the year raise money from needlework and craft for local charities of their choice and have made blankets for the local animal shelter.

The OmiVista Magic table

We at Grey Gables are proud to have invested in the OmiVista Magic table which is a mobile motion-activated interactive projection system that projects onto tables, beds and floors at the touch of a button.

It allows our residents to take part rather than passively watch; Socialise and enjoy meaningful activities together; Stretch, compete, think and be challenged; and unwind with a physical or calming activity.

We have witnessed a remarked response from residents by their emotional stability, mood, and outlook, a Sense of self-worth and belonging. The physical effort and energy have allowed residents to stand for longer and move with purpose with better balance.

Families are welcome to use the table with their loved ones to reminisce, load photos on, and play games that engage all ages.

Events & Activities

Alongside the activities held we also have outside therapists and entertainers. We hold fortnightly chair yoga and chair exercise sessions, adapted for seated positions to improve flexibility, balance, and coordination. This is particularly beneficial for seniors with limited mobility.

Grey Gables welcomes a range of entertainment from, different singers to the “Bird of Prey” Man who gives informative talks regarding the hawks, owls, and Kestrels he brings along. We also invite the local visiting PET Therapy animals group, that are in attendance regularly.
